Unique Technology Addresses the Most Demanding Applications With One Cost Effective Board

Westerville, Ohio, September 27, 1999

Micro Industries Corporation today introduced the new POS61, a single board computer designed specifically to meet the unique requirements of point-of-sale, kiosk, and industrial control applications. Micro Industries is an electronics manufacturing services (EMS) company that provides electronic engineering and manufacturing resources to OEMs.

The POS61 utilizes Intel® Celeron processor technology and a variety of peripheral controllers to provide virtually all of the control functions required for even the most demanding touch-screen point-of-sale or kiosk application. The computer features a high level of integration in a small form factor, and provides standard PC functions as well as a touch-screen interface, LCD flat panel controller, expanded serial and parallel I/O, Ethernet, and I/O expansion via a riser card.

"Traditional technologies for point-of-sale and kiosk applications utilize up to five or six separate boards," stated Michael Curran, president and CEO of Micro Industries. "Micro Industries developed the unique technology for the POS61 to incorporate the features of all these boards into one single board computer. With growing demand for kiosk and point-of-sale applications in business and consumer environments, the POS61 is uniquely positioned to satisfy this demand with high functionality, small form factor, and low price.
