MICRO INDUSTRIES ANNOUNCES NEW NLX DUAL PENTIUM III MOTHERBOARD

Micro Industries Corporation today announced the mNLX71, the first Dual PentiumĀ® III motherboard in NLX format. Micro Industries is an electronics manufacturing services (EMS) company that provides electronic engineering and manufacturing resources to OEMs. The mNLX71 is an NLX motherboard that can be used for desktop as well as embedded applications. The product is based on the latest IntelĀ® technology for processors and chipsets, which supports Dual Processor Technology, AGP (Accelerated Graphics Port) Controller, and 100MHz SDRAM, for the maximum performance available. Its foundation on the NLX form factor also allows greater flexibility in system integration, product maintenance, and field upgrades. "The new mNLX71, which utilizes the high performance Pentium III processor, is optimized for server applications in a Windows NT environment," stated Michael Curran, CEO of Micro Industries. "This motherboard provides the speed, flexibility and power that OEMs and existing NLX users need for demanding applications such as imaging, video servers, Internet and Intranet servers, routers, and telephony. Added audio support also increases the usability of the board." Curran continued, "The new design of the mNLX71 will support all future generations of Slot1 Pentium III processors, ensuring long-term performance and reliability. The board was also designed with all of the advantages of a passive backplane, such as ease of maintenance and long term product support."

The new product is available immediately in the United States and Europe. Volume OEM pricing is $595 (U.S.). Unit quantities are available at higher prices.
