New Product Offers High Level of Integration in a Small Form Factor

Micro Industries Corporation today announced the mNLX61, a new mini-NLX motherboard based on IntelĀ® PentiumĀ® III or Celeron processor technology. The compact size and powerful features of the mNLX61 make the board a versatile option for OEMs incorporating it into a variety of commercial and industrial embedded applications. The mNLX61 is an NLX motherboard that can be used for desktop as well as industrial embedded applications. Its compact design and foundation on the NLX form factor enable great flexibility in system integration, product maintenance, and field upgrades. Based on the latest Intel technology for processors and chipsets, the product supports Intel Pentium and Celeron processor technology, an AGP (Accelerated Graphics Port) Controller, and 100MHz SDRAM, offering the maximum performance available.

Micro Industries' mNLX61 Integrates Powerful Features and Capabilities
- Intel Celeron and Pentium III Processors and 82440BX Chipset: Intel Celeron processors with 128KB integrated cache and Intel Pentium III processors with 256KB integrated cache and 32-512MB of SDRAM offer a full spectrum of flexibility for speed and power. The BX Chipset supports 100MHz System Bus and AGP Bus for improved system performance and optimized multimedia graphics capabilities.
- NLX Form Factor: Designed by Intel, this form factor supports larger memory modules, the latest microprocessors and AGP video cards, and provides better access to motherboard components, enabling system-level design and integration flexibility. The dockable design also allows for easy removal for upgrades or service.
- Hardware Monitoring: National Semiconductor LM79 Microprocessor System Hardware Monitor monitors five voltages and three fan speeds, and provides POST code RAM storage.
- Intel 82559 Ethernet Controller: This 10/100 MB Ethernet interface with advanced power management and wake-on-LAN is a leading solution for PCI LAN designs, combining a small package design with low power expenditure to conserve energy.
- Intel 69000 Graphics Controller (Intel 69030 Optional): With 2MB of video display memory and LCD flat panel interface support, this high performance graphics accelerator supports graphic-intensive applications with independent multimedia capture and display systems on the chip. Available as an option are 4MB of video display memory.
- Sound Blaster® Compatible Sound System: With state-of-the-art technology, Creative Labs' Sound Blaster products are the industry standard in PC audio cards. The Sound Blaster compatible sound system features stereo input and output.
- Four Serial I/O Ports: The mNLX61 supports three general-purpose RS-232 ports and one configurable port for RS-232, RS-422, or RS-485.
- Two Bi-Directional Parallel Ports: One ECP/EPP/IEEE 1284 and one ECP/EPP enable fast peripheral communications.
- ISA/PCI Bus Expansion: The mNLX61 features an NLX riser card connector for ISA/PCI bus expansion with secondary EIDE and floppy connections.

The new product is available immediately in the United States and Europe. Volume OEM pricing is $595 (U.S.). Unit quantities are available at higher prices.
