MICRO INDUSTRIES ANNOUNCES ITS SUPPORT FOR NEW INTEL PROCESSORS THROUGH NLX-BASED PRODUCTS

Company Plans to Introduce New NLX-Based Products

Westerville, Ohio — May 23, 2000

Micro Industries Corporation today announced support for the new Intel® Pentium® III processors 700 MHz and 733 MHz, and the Intel Celeron™ processor 566MHz through its NLX-based products. Micro Industries is committed to supporting new product development and continued service and support for the NLX form factor for PC products, and plans to introduce new products based on the NLX form factor this summer. Micro Industries is an electronics manufacturing services (EMS) company that provides electronic engineering, manufacturing and system integration resources to OEMs.

The NLX form factor, introduced by Intel in 1996, is a specification that includes a dockable motherboard and is designed to enable easy upgrades and support for current and future processor technologies. Micro Industries currently offers several NLX-based products that support the higher speeds of the new Intel Pentium III processors and Celeron processor. The company offers the mNLX71 and mNLX61 products in standard configurations, and designs and manufactures custom systems based on these standards.

According to Steve Reed, Channel Marketing Manager, Embedded Intel Architecture Division, "We are pleased Micro Industries is supporting our newest Pentium® III and Celeron™ processor speeds in the NLX form factor."

"We are committed to providing continuing support for the NLX form factor for our OEM customers," stated Michael Curran, President and CEO of Micro Industries. "By supporting the new processor speeds developed by Intel and making them available first on our NLX-based products, we are bringing this new technology into the NLX space for the long term. We plan to introduce new systems based on the NLX form factor and Intel’s new processor speeds to greatly enhance our customers’ options."
