Advancing the Customer Experience with a Versatile, Virtual Retail Sales Associate

RETAIL SYSTEMS 2005, Chicago, Ill. — May 24, 2005

Micro Industries® announces the Touch&Go Paigezilla ™, the latest member in its line of compact, dependable, and scalable interactive client systems. The Paigezilla is the ultimate virtual sales associate, designed to help retailers boost their sales and serve their customers.

Occupying less than one cubic foot of space, the unit is powered by an Intel® Pentium® M processor. The Paigezilla features an ultra-bright, 10.4-inch LCD touchscreen and stereo speakers. With the addition of a durable, built-in thermal printer module, it becomes a self-contained interactive system suitable for almost any sort of transaction-processing application.

“The introduction of the Touch&Go Paigezilla brings direct-to-consumer marketing and self-service together in the retail marketplace,” says Michael Curran, Micro Industries’ president and chief executive officer. “In fact, Paigezilla provides retailers with the ability to interact and inform consumers in such a way that they can make educated selections and purchase products without additional support.”

Retailers can incorporate exactly the capabilities they need into Paigezilla. In addition to the built-in printer, the system’s array of optional features includes a barcode scanner, magnetic-stripe reader, 10-1 FLASH media card reader, and wired or wireless Ethernet port, plus a variety of storage and input/output options.

Touch&Go Paigezilla: New Decision Point in Retail Settings With its diminutive profile, the Paigezilla can be mounted on shelves and gondola end-caps, saving precious retail space. Its compelling, media-rich content draws attention and interest from shoppers. The system operates silently because it has no fan, thanks to Micro Industries’ patent-pending cooling technology.

The Paigezilla’s sleek, durable display stand contains the 60 mm thermal printer and 2.5-inch paper roll. Combining the printer with a CD, DVD, or CD-RW drive increases the system’s versatility in a retail environment to support such applications as digital photo processing or custom music CDs. Touch&Go products from Micro Industries also include the Messenger™, Paige™, Concierge™, and Courier™ systems.
